Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

Benson Smart Solutions AB operates Ripen and is the controller for personal data processed through the Ripen service.

Controller contact details are being finalized and must be added here before the service is made publicly available. For current support options, visit the Support page.

2. Data Ripen handles

• Account data: phone number, authentication records, account identifiers, and session information.
• Profile data: name, date of birth, gender, height, occupation, children preference, biography, profile answers, interests, and profile photos.
• Discovery preferences: who you want to meet, age range, and distance preference.
• Location data: precise location coordinates supplied during profile setup. Where distance is shown, Ripen exposes a privacy-reduced distance rather than your raw coordinates.
• Activity and communications: profiles shown, decisions, queue activity, matches, conversations, messages, blocks, and reports where those features are available.
• Technical and security data: request, error, and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the service.

3. Why the data is used

Ripen uses personal data to:

• create and secure accounts through phone verification;
• create profiles and show them to relevant members;
• run discovery, decisions, matching, and messaging;
• calculate privacy-reduced distance information where applicable;
• prevent abuse, investigate reports, and enforce service rules;
• maintain, troubleshoot, and improve reliability; and
• meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. Legal bases

Depending on the purpose, processing may be necessary to perform the agreement with you, based on Ripen's legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, required by law, or based on consent where consent is required. Device permissions, including location access, can be managed in your device settings.

The final mapping of purposes to legal bases requires owner and legal review before publication.

5. Who can receive data

Other members receive the parts of your profile needed for discovery; a match can receive messages you send. Ripen also relies on service providers for authentication, database hosting, photo storage, SMS delivery, security, and technical operations. The current application uses Supabase for authentication, database, and storage services.

Ripen may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect members, the service, or others. A finalized provider list and transfer assessment must be confirmed before launch.

6. Location

Ripen requests foreground location access during profile setup. Raw coordinates are handled by the service and are not sent to another member as profile data. Where distance is displayed, the service uses a rounded distance value designed to reduce location precision.

7. Retention and account deletion

Account information is kept while needed to provide and secure Ripen. The app includes an account-deletion flow under Settings. Confirmed deletion removes the authentication account, profile, private profile photos, active matching records, matches, conversations, and messages.

Safety reports may be retained after account deletion with account identifiers removed so that moderation records remain available. Exact retention periods for logs, backups, and safety records must be confirmed before publication.

8. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive your personal data; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a data protection authority. Identity verification may be required before a request is completed.

9. Security and international transfers

Ripen uses access controls and technical safeguards intended to limit unauthorized access. No online service can promise absolute security. Hosting regions and any safeguards used for transfers outside your country or the EEA must be confirmed in the final policy.

10. Age requirement

Ripen is for adults aged 18 and over. The profile-completion process rejects accounts belonging to people under 18.

11. Changes and contact

This notice may be updated as Ripen changes. Material updates will be presented through an appropriate channel. A monitored privacy contact must be published here and on the Support pagebefore launch.
